With all the recipes I seem to be posting (or planning to post) on my other blog, Haec Sunt Verbi Levia, I thought it best to initiate a new blog dedicated to those recipes--and, of course, some food commentary from time to time. I chose the name "Beyond Ramen" because I'm a grad student, and, like most of my peers, not a very wealthy one. We're all familiar with the stereotype of the starving grad student living off of nothing but dried noodles. This blog is, in a way, a tribute to all those early-twenty-somethings who look past the ramen noodle section of the grocery store and make something more exciting for dinner. Rock on, foodies.
