New look!

And it's about time. This weekend I finally got around to the site redesign that I alluded to way back when I migrated to a new domain name. The redesign process was very educational: I learned a bit of xml and some of the nuts and bolts of designing a blog template, which should serve me well in future bloggy adventures.

I'll probably still do some tweaking here and there with aesthetics, but all of the basic elements are there and should be functional. New and/or improved widgets include a drop-down archives menu, a streamlined list of categories, and my personal favorite: a feed of the latest posts from authors on my blogroll.

If something isn't working, or if there's something you'd like to see that isn't already here, please drop a note in comments and I'll see what I can do.

Happy cooking!

I'm loving the new blog design . . . and I really, really like the picture of you looking Nordic. Here's to more food adventures in 2009!

P.S. I was looking at your foodie blogroll and I spied Chocolate and Zucchini. I just ordered Clotilde's book from Amazon - haven't cooked anything from it yet, but she writes so charmingly.

Thank you! That picture is from our Thanksgiving 2007 trip to Joshua Tree... and it was rather cold. Thermal tops and knitted hats were the order of the day.

I have admittedly not kept up with Chocolate and Zucchini lately, but she's adorable. I have a particular fondness for most things French, including French people writing in English about food. Hopefully having that little feed on the side of the page will encourage me to keep up with my food reading. For most of last year I was immersed in political blogs, but now that things are settling down I'm going to re-diversify!

Hey, Anne!

Just thought I'd stop by to thank you for visiting my spot in the road.

You have the same plates that I do. Cool!
