And for Chile

The earthquake in Haiti is barely out of the news, and now we have another, larger quake in the news: the one in Chile. I cannot even begin to fathom what a magnitude 8.8 earthquake feels like. Fortunately, although my heart goes out to the friends and family of those who lost loved ones in the Chile quake, so far it appears that Chile was spared the massive loss of life that Haiti suffered.

Still, let's do what we can to help, shall we? I'll repost the relief organization links I put up in the Haiti post:

- Médecins Sans Frontières.

- UNICEF.

- American Red Cross.

The Missourian has more links here. You can also donate via text message:

- Text the word “CHILE” to 25383 to donate $10 on behalf of the Habitat for Humanity

- Text “CHILE” to 20222 to donate $10 via World Vision

- Text “CHILE” to 52000 to donate $10 via the Salvation Army

- Text “YOUTH” to 20222 to donate via UNICEF

- Text "REBUILD" to 50555 to donate $10 via Operation USA's Chile relief fund.

Once again, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile are waiving text message fees for donations.

As we lurch from one natural disaster to the next . . .

I'm sure that Californians are always particularly empathetic towards those who live on shifting ground.

healthy lunch recipes said...

healthy lunch recipes for children are commonly sought after by parents who want to feed their children meals that are delicious and nutritious. Parents want to have a variety of lunch ideas in their arsenal so that they can offer their children something different than the run of the mill peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
